The wharf is a shallow
depth wharf of 135 M long operative at high
water conditions. An approach road of 846
meters long connects the Wharf to the shore.
During high tide, water draught ranging
from 3.5 meters to 4.2 meters are available
at the wharf operation.
The loading and unloading
operations take place through lighterage
operations by barges, where the mother vessels
are anchored at a distance of 3.5 to 6 Kms
depending on the available draught of the
vessel.
Lighted buoys for safe
navigation mark the channel in the Gulf
of Kutch. Safe anchorage with 12 Meter of
water is available at a distance of 5.5
Kms from the port / wharf site for anchoring
3000-35000 DWT vessels and for 20-25 meters
of water is available at a distance of 10
Kms from the port site for anchoring 100000
DWT vessels.
